The content of this site is not to name or shame or to be funny it is for anyone who has an interest in occupational health and safety and some of the hazards people at work encounter . But I do hope you enjoy your visit and gain something from this site.

The purpose of this web site is to provide practical information that might be helpful to NEBOSH, occupational health/safety students and others, whilst taking part in their studies. It brings together in one place, photographs of hazards, poor working procedures and near misses in the workplace. Accidents and lessons learned from them will also feature from time to time.

The web site is not a substitute for training, but a visual aid, the book, site visits and research are essential.

The web site is international and available to all and this web site does not seek to replace any national/local law or regulations, or other professional guidance on regulations.

No guidance on this site should be taken as authoritative interpretations of the law, as it may well come from another country and will be identified by country of origin.

No judgements will be made that is for the courts.

General statement of safety policy

Safetyphoto regards the promotion of Health & Safety in the workplace as important and of benefit to employees at all levels.

This Policy statement of safetyphoto applies to all activities carried out by safetyphoto.

My Policy is to provide and maintain for myself and volunteers who may give assistance from time to time:

Safe and healthy working conditions;

Equipment and systems of work that are, as far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk and

Provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose.

I also accept my responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by my activities.

The responsibility for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement the Policy are set out in the MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK.

Safetyphoto does not employee anyone directly or hire or reward contractors or contributors but will;

Encourage and advise contributors to safetyphoto where appropriate, on matters regarding health safety and welfare.

Promote safe systems of work

This Policy and the way in which it is operated, is under constant review.

Safetyphoto welcomes suggestions from anyone on improving Health and Safety conditions in the workplace.

Environmental policy statement

It is the policy of safetyphoto to provide its services in such a manner as to safeguard the public and volunteers and contributors both in the present day and for the future against the affects of inappropriate environmental management resulting from safety photo's activities and influence.

To this end safety photo's senior personnel have a commitment to provide compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and licences by keeping themselves informed and up to date. This enhances safety photo's ability to achieve good sound environmental management by the application of best available technology, provided that it is economically viable to do so.

Safetyphoto accepts responsibility for the environmental management and maintenance of the operations on the web site. These responsibilities also include the influencing of other organisations within the region on environmental issues wherever possible.

All personnel will be made conversant with safety photo's environmental policy, procedures and processes. The policy, procedures and processes will be periodically reviewed and are mandatory to all safetyphoto personnel.

This statement represents my commitment on behalf of safetyphoto to strive for the continual improvement of environmental performance and the prevention of pollution,
