Victorian meat processor JBS fined over amputation of worker’s hand |

Melbourne meat processor JBS Australia has been fined $90,000 after a worker’s hand was amputated by a factory machine.

In November 2017, the man had been working on a production line to remove hides from sheep carcasses when the accident happened.

A chain he had wrapped around his wrist became entangled with a machine, dragging him in and severing his wrist and hand, Melbourne Magistrates Court was told.
