The government has issued a health warning as high levels of air pollution are being recorded across Hong Kong.
In Causeway Bay, the reading at the roadside monitoring station was over 140 and it was approaching that level in Central.
People with existing heart or respiratory illnesses, children and the elderly are advised to avoid prolonged stay at roadsides with heavy traffic and surrounded by tall buildings in urban areas and new towns, and reduce physical exertion in such areas as far as possible.

The accident happened at about 6.40am, as the 92,000-tonne Maersk vessel was entering Hong Kong waters coming from Shanghai.
It was directed to an anchoring area south of Lamma Island, reserved for dangerous cargos, at about 7.30am.

The two were going up to their flat on the 16th floor when the lift malfunctioned and its door got jammed. From the ground floor, the lift plunged two floors down — minus two — and then hurtled towards the 18th floor. The ordeal lasted 45 minutes till other residents managed to rescue them.

BBC News – Neston man jailed over Airbus back injury damages claim: A man who claimed about �48,000 in compensation for a back injury but was filmed carrying building materials, has been jailed for contempt of court.
Adam Roberts, 33, of Neston, Cheshire, claimed for damages after hurting his back while working for Airbus in 2007.
Insurance firm QBE investigated and filmed him moving without difficulty.
Sentencing him to six months, Lord Justice Moore-Bick at the High Court, said were it not for video evidence a payout would have been “very likely”.

Lead plaintiff Jill Swindell-Filiaggi and 53 other residents of Paulsboro, N.J. sued Conrail and CSX Corp. for the Nov. 30 accident, in the Court of Common Pleas.
They claim CSX and Conrail failed to maintain a 150-year-old bridge and ignored warning signs of its decay.
