They called round at the house in Vilassar de Dalt (Barcelona) the week before Christmas, claiming they were from the gas board, showing convincing-looking identity cards.

Mostly tourists, 23 hospitalized in İstanbul hotel over gas poisoning: At least 23 people have been hospitalized due to gas poisoning after a leak at a hotel in İstanbul early on Monday.

A total of 21 out of the 23 people that were injured are foreign tourists, while the other two are employees of the Modern Sultan Hotel where the leak happened in İstanbul’s Fatih district.

Ambulances were deployed to the hotel and the people were rushed to hospitals nearby. Some of the people were described as unconscious and were seen with white foam coming out of their mouths.

A WOMAN has died this afternoon in an explosion at a house in Pound Hill.

Police were called at 12.30pm to Banks Road.

Emergency services are at the scene.

It is unclear at this stage what caused the explosion but it is not believed to be suspicious, and early indications are it could be a boiler or gas canister explosion.

The NA body met in the Parliament House with MNA Shagufta Jumani in the chair. After having complete briefing on dangerous affects of the asbestos, the members and chair were of the view that a complete ban on import and use of asbestos be imposed.

One outbreak is on the Cunard Line Queen Mary 2, with voyage dates of December 22, 2012 to January 3, 2013. The second is the Princess Cruises Emerald Princess, with voyage dates of December 17 to December 27, 2012. The cause of the outbreaks has not been determined, but it may be norovirus, which often strikes enclosed areas such as cruise ships and nursing homes.
