Israeli dies following work accident at site of Eurovision

An Israeli truck driver who was injured Tuesday in a work accident during preparations for the Eurovision song contest at the Tel Aviv Expo succumbed to his injuries Wednesday, officials at the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv said.

On Tuesday, the 66-year-old driver was seriously injured when a piece of lighting equipment fell on him as it was being unloaded.

The driver, a resident of the central Israeli town of Pardes Hannah, was treated at the scene by MDA emergency first responders, before being evacuated to Ichilov.
