Framingham firm fined $50K for asbestos violations | Worcester Business Journal

A Framingham company has been fined nearly $50,000 for violating asbestos regulations for a building project in Southbridge, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection announced Tuesday.

The firm, SMBG, had workers remove waste materials containing asbestos from a multi-unit residential building on West Street in Southbridge, and brought bags of the material to a facility in Walpole operated by a licensed asbestos contractor affiliated with SMBG, the state said.
